Botox is one of the best, safest & the most common aesthetic procedure in the world. In addition to its use in aesthetic field,it has many medical care indications including hyperhidrosis (sweating) & chronic migraine. The best age for botox is between 25-50 years but it can be performed in older ages by experienced dermatologist.
Conditions for Botox:
Should not be a pregnant or breastfeed at the time of Botox injection. Do not have a history of taking oral medications such as clindamycin or gentamicin in the last 2 weeks. Do not have a history of neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis. For Wrinkles and lines on the upper part of face that are present at static state, Botox will not fixthem completely, in such cases you may need a filler in addition to Botox.
Information & post care for Botox:
Do not lie down or bend for up to 4 hours after Botox. For the first 4 hours, play with the facial muscles every half hour for 5 minutes (for example, frowning). It is forbidden to massage or manipulate the treated area for up to 24 hours. In some cases, a slight bruising may occur after Botox, which is easily controllable with an ice pack compression.The effect of Botox starts from 1-3 days and usually reaches more than 70% in a week and is complete in 2 weeks. More than 90% of cases do not require touch up session, but if necessary, you can refer for touch up session in 2-3 weeks after botox. Referal after 4 weeks for touch up is not suggestive. Botox usually lasts up to 3-6 months and but its longevityis different in different individuals and is not comparable to others. It is recommended to redoit before the complete disappearance of the effect of Botox so that your lines do not deepen.
